Walkthrough
Connect the Wire Service agent
Install the small program that signs in to your wire service for you and brings new orders into Floral Intel automatically, so nobody re-types them.
Who this is for: Shop owners and managers setting up Wire Service for the first time. How long: about 10 minutes.
Before you start
A Windows computer in the shop
It needs to be one that stays on during the day. The agent runs on that computer, so if it is asleep or shut down, no new orders come in.
Your Floral Intel sign-in
The same email and password you use for your workspace.
Your wire service username and password
You type these into the agent on your own computer. You never type them into Floral Intel, and we never see them.
Wire Service turned on for your shop
If you do not see Wire Service under Tools, it is not enabled yet. Email support and we will switch it on.
The steps
-
1
Open Wire Service in your workspace
Sign in to Floral Intel on the shop computer — the same one that will run the agent. Doing this on the shop computer rather than your phone or laptop saves you moving a downloaded file around later.
In the left-hand menu choose Tools, then Wire Service, then the Agents tab.
-
2
Download the agent
Click Download Floral Intel Agent and run the file when it finishes downloading. Windows will install it like any other program.
That is the only button on the panel — there is nothing else to fetch or configure.
Tools → Wire Service → Agents The installer is signed, so Windows should install it without complaint. If you see a blue “Windows protected your PC” box, check that the publisher line reads Robert Chady before continuing — and if it does not, stop and email support instead.
-
3
Open it — it shows you a code
Open Floral Intel Agent from the Start menu. It shows a short code, something like ABCD-2345, and waits. That is what is supposed to happen: the program you downloaded is the same one every shop downloads, so it has no way of knowing which shop this computer belongs to until you tell it.
Leave that window open. It moves on by itself the moment you finish the next step.
-
4
Type that code into your workspace
Back in the Agents tab, under “Step 3 · Enter the agent's code”, type the code the agent is showing, tick the box to accept the Wire Service terms, and click Pair with code.
Within a few seconds the agent window moves on by itself, and your computer appears in the Agents list. That is the whole setup.
Step 3: type the code the agent is displaying The terms box only appears the first time, and again if the terms change. If you do not see it, you have already accepted the current version — that is normal, not a missing step.
-
5
Check that it is online
Your computer should now be listed with a green ONLINE label and the time of its last check-in. From here on it works quietly in the background — there is nothing to open each morning.
If you ever want to disconnect it, Revoke on this row cuts it off immediately. Orders it has already brought in stay where they are — they are yours, in Floral Intel.
What a healthy agent looks like
Questions about this
Can Floral Intel see my wire service password?
No. You type it into the agent on your own computer and it stays there. We cannot see it — which also means we cannot recover it for you if it is lost.
Can the agent place orders or change my prices?
No. It only READS — it brings your orders in and nothing else. It does not place orders, accept or reject them, confirm deliveries, change prices, or touch your account settings.
I do not see Wire Service under Tools
It is not enabled for your shop yet. Email [email protected] and we will turn it on.
Windows says the app is unrecognised
You are most likely running an older copy from your Downloads folder — versions before 0.2.0 were unsigned. Download it again from the Agents tab, and check the publisher reads Robert Chady before continuing.
The agent opens and shows an error about a browser
Download it again from the Agents tab. Version 0.2.0 could not start on a clean Windows PC and was replaced on 31 August. The agent drives Google Chrome — or Microsoft Edge if Chrome is not installed — so one of those needs to be on the computer.
The agent installed but nothing appears in my workspace
If the agent is showing a code, that code still needs typing into the Agents tab — see step 4. Nothing appears in the list until then, and the agent will wait indefinitely. If you have already done that and the list is still empty, give it a minute, then check the agent is actually running on that computer.
Does the computer have to stay on?
Yes. The agent runs on that computer, so it can only bring your orders in while it is awake and connected to the internet. A shop machine that stays on during business hours is ideal.
Why am I being asked to accept the terms again?
The Wire Service terms changed. Every acceptance is recorded against a specific version, so a new version asks everyone once more. That is deliberate.
Can I run it on a Mac?
Not yet. The installer is Windows only today.
